About Steve Meek
Steve Meek, affectionately known to many as “The Doctor,” is the Founder and CEO of The Fulcrum Group in Keller, Texas. He brings more than 30 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, operations, and executive leadership to organizations that want real innovation, over just basic support. He works with leaders who need better clarity, stronger security, and technology decisions that actually support the business.
Steve Meek is a proud small-town Native Texan, business-minded technology leader, and the Founder and CEO of The Fulcrum Group, Inc. Steve built Fulcrum on a simple belief: smaller organizations deserve the same level of thoughtful, strategic IT guidance that larger enterprises expect, just delivered in a way that is more practical, personal, and right-sized. That belief helped shape one of DFW’s most relationship-driven managed services firms.
Over more than three decades in technology and management, Steve has held executive leadership roles across multiple IT organizations and earned respected industry credentials, including CISSP. He worked full-time while earning his business degree, moved out on his own at age 17, was the first in his family to attend college and earned his first management role at 19.
Humble beginnings forged a leadership style grounded in ownership, responsiveness, plain-English communication, and respect for the people on the other side of the table. That philosophy shows up in how Fulcrum serves clients, how the team communicates, and how the company hires and leads.
Today, Steve helps organizations across Dallas-Fort Worth navigate managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud modernization, compliance pressure, cyber insurance, Microsoft 365 standardization, data governance, and practical AI adoption. Through Fulcrum's STARPower Framework and SPOT Managed IT Services, he helps clients move from reactive IT to better planning, stronger security, and more confident decision-making.
Words Steve Lives By
A few principles shape how Steve leads, advises clients, and thinks about technology:
Cheap IT saves cents. Smart IT makes dollars.
Technology is a business issue long before it becomes an IT issue.
Fast help matters, but clear strategy matters longer.
Never let company policy get in the way of doing the right thing.

Community and Leadership
Steve is fond of saying, “There may be people who know more than me, but when something happens and you need help, there is no one better in the foxhole with you.” That mindset reflects how he leads clients: steady under pressure, practical in the moment, and focused on helping people move forward. As part of the Fulcrumanics culture, he has dressed up as Lincoln, one of the Three Amigos, Walking Dead’s Rick Grimes, among others, for fun.
Beyond the office, Steve has invested time in community and civic causes including Special Olympics basketball, food banks, autism and epilepsy awareness, and education initiatives in Tarrant County. He also serves in advisory and leadership circles that keep him close to the real concerns of business and community decision-makers.
People who work with Steve quickly see that, for him, technology is never just about devices or software. It is about helping real people make better decisions, reduce friction, and create better outcomes.
